I must die. I have no health insurance at present. I can't afford to break a bone, death or bruises, no in-between.

Yeah. I told my wife it probably would have worked out better if I had died in my motorcycle accident. Then she would have no bills and a lot of insurance money. I got my ass kicked right there in the hospital bed. You can't tell because avatars on this forum have to be so dam small. But that is an x-ray of my leg. Kind of smashed. So break a leg.

My orange Big Boys deck that was ripped off in the spring of '84, then found hanging up in the wall in the Alt, broken in half, later that summer. Ah, the fuckin' memories.

Big and bulky, just like punk and hardcore were in those days...
After ripping up my 70-ies Dog Town Bob Binieau or something like that, i kicked into the 80-ies boards pretty late with a

1983/1984 Variflex Shock Therapy
followed by a
Powell Tony Hawk
then a
Dog Town Malba
and a
Santa Cruz Jeff Grosso

All with indepent trucks, and different wheels, preferably hard for that time (92, 95). I still like to ride the Jeff Grosso, it's nice for the oldfashioned lip tricks in ramps.
I did change to the slicker, thinner boards in the 90-ies up till now, but i really like the older boards better.

And man, skating gets harder when you are older, and what are those 8 year old kids flying all around me? What happened to streetplants and boneless ones?

Is that the Grosso with all the little cartoon ghoulies covering the bottom, or the big tree one? I had a couple of those before I switched to Jeff Phillips.

I'm trying out the pool this afternoon on my new fangled skinny board.

I noticed Zebco Reel had quite the collection of old decks at his shop yesterday.

But I still have this one in green deck/purple image. As far as i recall there were quite some different Jeef Grosso's (the playing kid with the letters, the coke-spoof, the ghoulies etc) designs, most based on his heavy intake of intoxicants....

All most no mention of Mill City or Kahuna, weird...

I had a coupla freaky decks, some not mentioned yet:

Flite Airborne (w/ neon green top and clear grip tape, from Florida))
Santa Monica Airlines, ??? model
New Wave deck made by some kid in Chicago, broke instantly
Time Machine, weird board with a honeycomb core of some kind and a rubber bumper, it snapped real fast
DOGTOWN Shogo Kubo AIRBEAM (I recently noticed that some guy in Japan payed 2 grand plus for one of these in nice shape, AAARGH! I remember skatin' on this at Surf n' Turf in Millwaukee, great board)
Uncle Wiggly Tony Magnusson foam/kevlar (STOLEN!)

I had a Kahuna in '78 or '79. Then I started taking Stingrays off jumps and riding them in the dirt.
