Midtown Greenway extension snaps

Rode it yesterday for the first time. More of a convenience than a place to hammer but still great to have.

It'll be even more convenient if they can follow through on plans to extend across the railroad bridge to the vastly superior East River Road path.

That's what both the Franklin and Lake bridges are for. It's not as though we are stuck west of the Mississippi.

Bah. Dedicated bicycle bridges are much cooler, and wouldn't require a bumpy ride down West River Road.

The newish path alongside the newish 35E bridge is a nice connection, with a view.

Plus it has a tunnel. I endorse bike paths that have their own tunnels.

If only the path along Shepard between 35E and 5 weren't so crappy. I recommend the scenic route through Crosby Farm / Hidden Falls if you're not in a hurry.

Definitely the route thru Hidden Falls and Crosby Lake. And if you start in Hidden Falls, you can fly down the hill on that crumbly road at 35+mph! Scary... Thankfully, the uphill at the end of Crosby Lake isn't all that bad. If you know the route(s), it really isn't that much longer taking the scenic route either. If you really want to meander, there are plenty of dirt path diversions., altho they are prolly still heavy with itch weed.
