Snowcrash...excellent.
The Diamond Age...very cyberpunk. fun to read.

Hell, both of them were very cyberpunk and fun to read.

Snowcrash is one of those books that's been sitting on my shelf for a long time, just waiting to be read. Probably sometime soon.

I love the idea of the mafia controlling pizza delivery.

Just finishing up vol. two of the Baroque Cycle. I have been too busy lately to do much reading but I suppose there'll be more time for that when the weather gets colder. I've previously read Cryptonomicon and am planning to read Snow Crash and Anathem when I'm finished with Baroque.

Volume 2 "The Confusion" has been interesting reading this summer because it includes a lot of financial dealings in the late 1600's early 1700's that seems similar to stuff that's been going on this year in the financial markets. Lenders being leveraged out too far because of their greed and loosing everything to people who bargained on that persons greed, played the bank and won and how it tied into politics and society in that period.

You mean to tell me that the Mafia doesn't control pizza delivery?

The Diamond Age is a prescient view of society (philes) and technology (collective intellect), IMO. Great read. I couldn't get past page 50 of Snow Crash. Not my style.

All three volumes of The Baroque Cycle sit on my shelf, mocking me. I've been bogged down in the middle of Quicksilver for years now.

Tore through most of the others though. The two technothrillers he wrote with his uncle under the pseudonym Stephen Bury are pretty good too: Interface and The Cobweb.
