BiL was my first exposure to that rocked out Celtic folk music. I saw them in 1982, a full 4 years before I heard the Pogues. So BiL set the standard in my mind as to what that sub-genre should be like.

The first two albums are still great records and hold up 25+ years on.

I have a copy of the Boiled Alive cassette. (tape of live performances sold at Boiled in Lead shows.) Not sure if that is different from "Boiled Alive '92" which I see referenced elsewhere - I think the tape I had was earlier than 1992.
