so little enthusiasm being shown. were they playing stuff on the second LP or what? The first 7" is certified top 5 of US hardcore...just off the chain. I saw them in like 87 or so and they really sucked.

This is 1982 so they were still ripping it up. Lori was taking shots just before they really started to get going. As you can see there were only about 10 of us at this show and I can assure you that we were all huge fans. Dan from DK is on the stairs sitting next to Tom Hazelmyer, Me, Grant, and Lard Pulver standing. BPCHNC is in the other group shot.

With everybody sitting down in the shots, it does look like a un-plugged set.

Die Kreuzen + short hair = good.

By the time I saw them for the first time (1984; I'm from Milwaukee), half their set was shit off October File. The Crusties and Sacred Order ruled Milwaukee in 1984.

Saw them for the first time as The Stellas at O'Banion's in Chicago circa '81. Dan K kicked a woman in the chest when she approached the band yelling less than complimentary things. They sounded rather 'messy', having not yet developed that drum-tight-yet-wired-to-hell feel that came with the monumental first lp.

I don't think anything came out as The Stellas. The first Die K stuff was on the Charred Remains comp if I remember correctly.
