There's a control panel option for phpbb that has a function to mass delete spammers, as opposed to one at a time. That might prove useful, seeing as how Captcha really doesn't address the issue of them signing up in the first place.

I haven't used phpbb in years so I'm not sure if this will work. Set up a test server at home using xampp or the like. Install the latest and greatest phpbb on the test server. Import a copy of the TCP database and see how it looks. If you're sticking with phpbb you shouldn't need a whole lot of database restructuring. If it looks great, shut down the site on some night and do the same thing on the web server.

Posted many times before... yes I could set everything up on a local server and work with it, but have tried many conversions on the actual server, including the admins doing it for me. Only about half the stuff made it through.

So here is the deal. I'm downsizing my hosting plan and will put together a new message board for us to use. This one will be archived like the first site, perhaps even left running with limited options. I'm hoping a fresh install of a new message board will fix registration issues, and other problems that have plagued us in the past.

I'm not really looking for a sudden rebirth or interest in the this site, but it's not like the current broken board is on fire.

Those who have sites hosted under my hosting plan will need to archive their sites.
