Once owned by Hawkwind's Simon House and later Nik Turner (note Inner City Unit logo sprayed on case.)

Man... too bad I was only a wee lad when all the cool synths were out. Who the hell would wanna play a crappy DX7 when they coulda had an EMS?

Del Detmar showed me his Korg system that he's had "since, since since since, about 19...19... 19sev 1972 maybe?" That's the one he controlled with the double bladed wood axe.

And actually I would rather look at vintage synths than porn, and I gots nothing against porn at all.

Note the membrane keyboard similar to the EDP Wasp. These things are still available, but I don't have the $3k to get one.

And anyone who went to the 2001 Roxy Music gig at Northrup (or anywhere else on the world tour) were treated to not 1 but 2 EMS VC3's as witnessed by this photo:

I guess some old insignificant early member of Roxy made noise with one of them. Some cat named Brant Emo or something?

And I may be very wrong but that looks like some kind of Clavia Nord underneath to be used as a controller.

I was able to find a "fully functioning demo" version of the VST version of this

which has now piqued my interest in obtaining an original. This was the follow-up to the Wasp. Chris Huggett (?) folded EDP (Electronic Dream Plant) and formed the Oxford Synthesizer Company.

Hey DDB, see what happens when you get me started?

And I think I posted this somewhere else, but this is mainly for Zom:

Code:

I haven't had a chance to A/B it with the original unit to see how well the emulation is, but if nothing else I can now devise patches on my laptop and aproximate them on the real deal later on.

We had half of one of those at Marshall-U-High.
Our plug-in keyboard shorter scale, only half the length and only a single unit.
I played with it a bunch. Same model without a doubt, had a pegboard patch like the one featured in our thread.

Think that guy in Pert Obo used one as well.

Rocking the Crumar DS-1. Mine is serial number DS101. From what I've been able to find out mine is the highest serial number known within the Crumar cult. These are pretty rare beasts, a bit scarecer than it's bigger brother the DS-2. I thought it was quite the feather in my cap (I still do) until I was talking to Tim Sexton about it and he said "oh yeah, I have one of those". I had him describe it, thinking he had the more common DS-2, but nope, he described the DS-1.

I love my Crumar DS-1 and hereby recind the offer made in the Swap Meet thread where I said I would include it in a swap for an EDP Wasp.

The vocorder used on Kraftwerk's "Autobahn" just sold on ebay. Here's the link, but the photos don't link any more (at least for me.)

DDB posted about that in another thread. It sold for $12,500, a little too deep for my shallow pockets.

Looks like Conny has a nice OSCar for sale, as well as a kitty-free ARP Odessey. Again, too deep for my shallow pockets, but I will gladly accept donations.
