Not according to any of the polls I've seen. Are we talking about the same thing? And yea, lies, damn lies, and statistics, but there are lil' nuggets of truth to be found.

I was talking about people who want the public option. I believe it because no one wants to live in government housing, even though the Evans family made it look like fun on Good Times, just crackin' one one liner after the other, and no one is relying on social security for their retirement. What happens when the Republicans take over again? Do the people that hate Republicans want them running their health care?

Every poll I've seen has a majority wanting some variant of a public option. Dunno where that 85% against came from.

My parents do. Virtually all my aunts and uncles do as well. I won't rely on ss as much, but that has little to do with the original plan and more to the raiding of funds that has happened since.

I still pay taxes when the Republicans are in power. Social security checks are still mailed, medicare is still offered, etc, etc. It's not so much who's in power as much as what laws are on the books.

It took me one search to find this:

Quote:
On the issue that has been perhaps the most pronounced flash point in the national debate, 57 percent of all Americans now favor a public insurance option, while 40 percent oppose it. Support has risen since mid-August, when a bare majority, 52 percent, said they favored it. (In a June Post-ABC poll, support was 62 percent.)

In the same article it says that 85 percent of republicans are against it. Maybe that's where that number is coming from.

Quote:
Overall, 42% of voters nationwide favor the health care plan. Fifty-four percent (54%) are opposed.
Among the priorities outlined by the president earlier this year, voters have consistently named deficit reduction as the top priority with health care reform second. Sixty-eight percent (68%) say that passage of the health care plan will increase the deficit.

There is a distinction here, 2F. The results you posted are for opinion regarding the current plan from the house. That isn't the same as being opposed to a public option in every form. Even the Washington Post polls (the source of the 57% in support of a public plan) show people being against the current proposed plan.

Rasmussen Reports wrote:
Virtually all polling shows a plurality or majority opposed to the current plan in Congress. The poll in The Washington Post found just 45% support for the congressional plan among all adults.

While voters are skeptical of the plan working its way through Congress, 54% say major changes are needed in the health care system. Sixty-one percent (61%) say it’s important for Congress to pass some reform.

The sad thing is that Obamacare does nothing to improve the HC situation. It's just a banana republic like power grab. Where is the tort reform? What about allowing ins. companies to work across state lines?

The real poll was on Nov 3rd-Socialist HC was rejected.

Good question. One of the powers granted to congress by the constitution is to regulate interstate commerce in order to keep state regulations from hindering it.

Thank you MA!
Starting today, it's going to get pretty crazy.
The progressives have only 1 year to shove all their crap down our throats.
They'll be like a bunch of wounded animals.
