I went and saw Henry Rollins spoken word show at First Ave. in mid October (yea, yea, I know... I wasn't gonna but a good friend had an extra ticket and called me up.....) It was actually pretty entertaining and one of the things he spoke about at great length was the Ruts. He went on and on about how they were one of the greatest bands ever and a total inspiration to him and that he got word that Paul Fox was very sick and the band wanted to play a big benefit show to raise money for his medical bills. They needed a singer since Malcom Owen was dead and asked Rollins to do it. So he went over and practiced with them and hung out and most of the time in practice they had stand in guitarists because Paul was so ill but that he did make it to a practice or two and played the actual show. They did the show (July 16, 2007 I think) with UK Subs and the Damned also on the bill. Most of this is on Youtube if you look for it. So now the question is : Where do I find me some Ruts stuff? I know I have heard things here or there and may even have something in my collection if i dig deep enough. Has their stuff been issued on CD at all?

Word on the street is that their album was posted on a blog somewhere.

Word on the next street over is that the posting is for preview only and, should you make the right decision and decide that The Ruts are worthy of inclusion in your collection you should buy the recording from your local independent record broker.
