any comments? I've kinda just been checking out his solo stuff.. I like it, I've always really liked his voice for one thing and he can write some good tunes. I may be booking him in Duluth around the beginning of summer, has anybody seen him live?

i think "good news for modern man" is an underrated pomp-pop masterpiece.

I saw Grant a few years back when he played here in Los Angeles (Spaceland). He was selling CD's etc. It was a small audience but they loved him. He took requests from the audience. I think he played both solo and accoustic. I thought he was fabulous.

Great music.

Get the solo albums Intolerance and as mentioned Good News for Modern Man and also the Nova Mob albums.
This was Grant's other band. Admiral of the Sea and The Last Days of Pompeii are the Nova Mob albums. All great records.

Very cool to see live also. Always entertaining.

Peace, Todd

Grant is great solo, a highly under-rated song writer. Roommate agrees.

I always laugh when I think of Avon Bom. The anti Nova Mob band.

My dad referred to him as "that drug addict son of the shop teacher."

true story.

Yeah I've been digging his solo albums.. and I saw a setlist of a show he did a few years ago, and there was like 7 Husker Du songs. that rules..

the one nova mob cd i have is plagued by really crappy 80s production.

i have a 7 inch of "shoot your way to freedom" by nova mob that appears to have been really shot by a gun! (the sleeve, not the record)
