OK, if Freakstorm can extol the virtues of The Bob Seger System then I am going to sing the praises of one of Canada's hardest-rocking bands of the 70's, namely the great and homely Bachman Turner Overdrive.

If you get past the overplayed stadium filler (Takin' Care Of Business, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet) and get into deeper tracks I guarantee your ass will be kicked by the stone jams of their amped up boogie blues rock.

Four Wheel Drive
Gimme Your Money Please
Roll On Down The Highway
Blue Moaning
Let It Ride (plus others)

I'm kind of a Thin Lizzy fan myself. Them and Blue Oyster Cult.

I'm was surprised to find that BOC does their own Japanese dialog in Godzilla which I found kind of cool. They look like roadies the lot of them. On the downside- drum solo. Rolling Eyes What were they thinking?

Did the Cockney Rejects cover this song- The Rocker- or was it an entirely different song? I can't recall and don't have a turntable hooked up right at the moment.

I saw BOC at the ToM a few years back. They weren't good. The only member of the band that seemed happy to be there was the fill-in bass player.

While I am not familiar with their entire repertoire, I can safely say this is the only BOC song that really gets me off:

And only this version. The live version on Some Enchanted Evening blows more than Little Oral Annie.
