Shitcan the "Mission Statement" just unleash a fucking manifesto if you're going that route, who are the bands? Are you burning the world down or just driveling pop-punk out your dick? Speak the fuck up.

Have you guys signed Hibiscus Handlebars yet? Many of your artists might benefit greatly from the Random band name generator.

We had to make a mission statement at my work once. It took a week, a million rewrites and in the end nobody remembers it. Biggest waste of time ever. We do a lot of that kind of thing at my job.

Sensitivity Parade is a sweet band infused with so much DIY ethic that they just pay a bunch of Indonesians to put together their disks and print their shirts and shit. You should see if they need some support.

So that's what they're calling it these days,
back in my day we called it the clap.
You could get it cleared up with a shot.
Real men just gave it a good whack with mallet.
Pounded the pus right out of there, we did.

we updated our mission statement at last night's meeting:

Here is how it read so far:

-to preserve the important D.I.Y. ethics of our communities, while promoting musical acts we have hand-chosen from our communities.

-working in ways which will strengthen radical D.I.Y. community, and create opportunities for hard-working D.I.Y.-oriented musicians to gain exposure for their art.

-working to get our artists closer to the reality of making their music the closest thing they need to a job -- rather than remaining slaves to this unsustainable, industrial civilization's capitalist machines.
-We at Anti-Civ Records believe in building sustainable DIY community while spreading the art we love. We reject all forms of discrimination and oppression (including but not limited to sexism, homophobia, racism, & capitalism).

ADDITION to the mission statement (2/19/0Cool:

-working to break down barriers created by such concepts as “scene” and/or “genre”. By exposing people to what is new to them, we can hope to build a broader base of support for good art, no matter what “genre”, and encourage people to abandon the false safety of “scene-mentality”—hopefully replaced by interest in building diverse community.

We played a show with the hobos from Your Living Tigger or whatever one time. They weren't very good.
