Their first 2 albums, Reproduction and Travelogue are VASTLY different than their pop stuff.

"Reproduction"= Classic LP beyond words. An electronic landmark, equal in my ears to anything of its time.

"Travelogue"= Very good LP by a splintering band.

Agreed. The Golden Hour is easily up there with the other "minimal" classics of the time, and so far removed from "Human" that they shouldn't even share the same band name.

Apparently, Ollie isn't the only Men Without Hats fan. I was at a bit of a Mpls reunion party last night at Miki Mossman's bar in Brooklyn. Lori B and Gibby Haynes were tag-team DJ'ing. The first song that Gibby played was Safety Dance. I probably should have taken the opportunity to ask him to reach for a deeper cut to expose the party to one of these electronic classics "beyond words."
