The only redeeming thing about this film for me, was that we saw it in a theater that served beer and pizza, and only charged $3.00 admission. The more beer we drank, the better the movie got. But not really.

It had a fun premise - vampire families migrating to the Pacific Northwest, because the overcast environment allowed them to move around in the day, and not have to sleep in coffins until the sun set. Everything else about it was totally dumb.

Then we went home and watched a bunch of episodes of Dark Shadows - now that's a vampire story.

In the novel Dracula the Count moved around London freely during the daytime. If you want a good modern Vampire flick check out Let the Right One In.

30 days of night was pretty bad in a funny way. Vampyres that hiss like ornery kittens are chuckle worthy.

Jeez, it has been a while since I read that - I guess I've been inundated with all the usual vampire propaganda since then.

Thanks for the heads-up about Let the Right One In, though - both the missus and I enjoyed that one quite a bit.
