Anyone know of a good place to get a set (4) of aluminum wheels powder coated in the TC area? Any ideas on cost?

There's a place right on Central across from the Vegas Lounge that does powdercoating at reasonable prices. Can't remember the name though as i haven't had anything done in a couple years.

You might want to talk to Shane at twilight tattoo, I know he has had a lot of mc and car parts powdercoated and I think he has a hook up.

I have decided that I am going to just paint the wheels myself now. The cost of powdercoating is just too much compared to what I could get a whole new set of wheels for.

I am in the middle of the process now, and it is ALOT of work (cleaning, stripping, sanding, cleaning again, primer, sanding, paint, clear coat) but really cheap aside from time. Plus, it is a good learning experience (probably wont do it again). Hopefully they turn out looking purdy. Supplies for this are probably around $60, so not much lost.

Depending on the wheels sometimes the powder coating process can cause problems. Especially if they are a light weight wheel, the powder coating process can raise the temp of the wheel and cause them to become brittle.

Good to know, as these are pretty light weight (14x6 @ 11.5lbs).
