| A book by David Mitchell who's been compared to Haruki Murakami. I read an earlier book by him titled Number9 Dream which totally engrossed me until a very flat ending. This book tho took me a long while to get into, mostly because of weird old English dialog in the first chapter, but then I couldn't put it down. Many reviews have said it is a very difficult read, but I don't quite get that. It's unconventional in its stories telling (there are multiple neatly connected stories) and the dialog is tough reading in spots, but it isn't James Joyce or William Faulkner difficult. One of the wildest and far-reaching books and the best book I have read in years. Worth checking out if you're needing some new material. |

To be made into a big budget movie with big Hollywood names. This book probably couldn't be made into a good movie, but it certainly ain't going to be worth a crap with Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, Halle Berry, etc, etc. Tom Hanks as the lead? There isn't a singlular lead in the book....
