anyone else on the board get this?
fairly sophisticated in that there are no links or BS for the filters to flag
and it depends on the reader being curious enough to do a search.

shitty band and fucking spammers.
since they consider themselves "punk"
and the junkmail came in on the addy i use for my internet wanderings,
i'm wondering if they somehow harvested it from the board.

I would suggest that all TCP users hide their e-mail by changing your profile settings. I would avoid posting any e-mail address that you don't want harvested by bots, spiders or enemies, lurking trolls, etc.

P.S. I want $200 donated to my paypal account or I'm selling the complete list to Hot Topic.

We've been getting hit with a lot of crap lately in the event calendar mailbox. I haven't opened any of them, but they looked like the could've been viruses. It may just be mass emails.

I just got one at my main non-board address from "fat_catties@hotmail.com." That's one of the Cambridge bands...

I haven't had a single problem with my email, as far as those Cambridge spammers go.

I got that same one on Friday, madcat. Fuckers. What sucks is that stuff is coming to an account very few people have the name of.
(I posted about this elsewhere)

I was hounded by this awful band called Buddyhead for several years. I must have sent 100 emails asking to be taken off that list. If they ever come through town I promise to be there and kick the asses.

DAEGO, what are YOU complaining about?! You ARE "punk spam". Laughing

[Yes, that was uncalled for, being out of 'nowhere', and all...but it was also funny. Very, very funny.]

With all the free email accounts available I see no reason why anyone would sign up for anything online with a "real" email account.

My first-ever hotmail account ( beev666@hotmail.com ) is used only for registerring for message boards, blogs, tape trades, stuff like that. I've got a filter on it so the only thing that goes to my inbox is stuff for bootleg trading. Everything else, including TCP notifications, goes to the spam box.

I've got 100 gmail accounts to give out, if anyone wants one just let me know. And hotmail is still free for the asking.

Really, people, you bring this all on yourselves.

I'm with Ollie on this.

Why wade thru garbage emails when you can just get a fresh new email account in way less time than it takes to sift thru all the spam and crap?

And quit giving porn sites the email address you actually use regularly. You jackass.
