A fellow here at work, Jim Kramer, was selected to be one of fifteen to represent the USA at the 2005 World Scrabble Championships in London this week. Go Jim!

I'm finally coming close to a 1900 rating on Yahoo Literati. The only problem with playing that game is that it throws you off for regular scrabble, though Point system is different and different wordsa re acceptable or not. But it still has improved my Scrabble skills. Maybe in another year or so I will feel confident enough to try one of those Scrabble tournaments. Can people observe at these things if they aren't obnoxious?

Oh man, I fucking HATE Literati. Not only is the point system different, the board is different and the letter frequency is different (I got 3 Zs in a game of Literati, once. Coincidentally, it was the last time I played that piece of shit game).

Thanks for bumping this thread, though. I'm gonna download that WordBiz game so I can play more.

Weird, too, cuz Tchelli just mentioned this thread yesterday. I'd completely forgotten about it.

I tried to play on a Scrabble site I found for a few weeks long ago but those folks are so good I was getting slaughtered. Perhaps it is time to revisit that site; my skills are definitely better than they were back then. And I have become weary of playing one idiot after another. Maybe one in five games do I have a worthy opponent on Literati. I just need to get my friends to play more often.

I play in the pixie pit w/ people I know...I've been playing online in there for about 2 years....

http://www.thepixiepit.co.uk/scrabble/index.htm

if anyone wants to play...let me know...you don't have to sit down & play all at once (tho I have another program for that)...this one you make a play & your opponent has 2 days to make their play...so it's pretty much at your convenience...

if you want to play realtime, I have another program, as I said, for that...

Hey, Yuck, thanks for posting this. I got it all set up. Just played my first game, and my only complaint is that when you win, they don't subtract remaining tiles from your opponent's score like they're supposed to. Tevs.

Not anymore, CC assholes. They just had to kick out the scrabble players; everyone knows they're nothing but trouble, damn juvenile delinquints.

Have you guys decided on a semi-permanent place to move this to?

Nope, haven't really talked about it. Perhaps Board Game Fun Timery will just have to pick up the Scrabble slack.

But that would only be monthly. I need a crabble fix a little more often than that. Besides spring is just around the corner and cabin fever isn't as strong.
