I just picked up a Sony DSC-F717. It's cool. If anybody has some useful sites for digital photo help/instruction/techniques, please post.

I just picked up the same model about 2 months ago for $499. Hope you got a good deal like I did.

I'm fairly new to the camera myself, but I've taken over 600+ pics with it and got some pretty respectable shots.

You can check out my galleries on-line: http://www.jmk.zoomshare.com/
There's a few pics there and a link to my webshots gallery.

I'm more of a photoshop user that converted to digital photography than a photographer. But I'd be willing to answer any questions about the 717 or digital photography.

I have the D70 and I got the Canon Powershot S1Is with a water housing. I have yet to go to a site or read any instructions and both have been really easy to use thus far. Wish I had the time to sit down and read the instructions and mess around with it.

Digital- not just for porno anymore..

Thanks for the compliment, Phobia.

My approach to photography is shoot first, ask questions later. A stupid cliche, yes. But as far as digital photography goes I learned mostly by immersion. I'm on my 3rd camera now, but my first one spoiled me. Just a simple point n' shoot with great optics. My second camera (which I still have but shamefully neglect) is a Sharp 3.1 mp with some advanced options, but the chance of getting good shots is a 50/50 proposition.

If it wasn't for digital photography I wouldn't even own a camera. My attention span is pretty short and I need instant gratification. So there's a "digital delay". Fuck it. I can live with it. Better than processing film and dealing with sloppy lab techs.
