I assume you saw that article about Libyan oil reserves...

First, Obama, or his administration, does not have a background, financial ties, or big political donors in the oil industry.

I did, & will assume you never heard of Soros, Brazil & Petrogras.

What makes Lybia so special compared to all the other places where "atrocoties" are occoring? Sweet Sweet OIL. Syria is looking kinda scary too, so is North Korea... time to bomb?

It's all good Jawnee, we are all neocons now! Obama just isn't as good at it as W. How long did it take to get rid of Saddam? 2 days? I think it's been a month now for Obama.

Second, I think it's pretty clear Obama's alterior motive is for monopolizing community organizing in the middle east (to promote world-wide socialism, or course) and to bolster the birth certificate forgery market (they do that there, too... right?).

I donno, ask Trump!

Way back in the late '50s, Pres. Eisenhower, a Republican and WWII hero Uber-General, warned of the military-industrial complex. Fast forward thru Cuba, Vietnam, Grenada, Nicaragua, Iraq (twice), Afghanistan and Libya. Forgive me if I left somebody out. Eisenhower warned the war machine's appetite would grow exponentially, taking a bigger % of the GNP, much of it "stealth" money. Know why those B2s had to make a round trip from Missouri to Libya? To scare Qadafi? He already scared shitless. ITS BECAUSE THOSE PLANES HAVE TO DO SOMETHING TO JUSTIFY THEIR INCREDIBLE COST. They are worth their weight in solid gold! Meanwhile back @ home, are things looking up for yew Fisty? Hope to have yer home and health insurance together in 10 years? How's the streets in yer neighborhood? Those potholes are fun, huh?

2F, I didn't even understand your earlier post, so I guess you could say you were vindicated eight years later. You should love Obama, his policies are pretty much inline with the policies you were cheering for under Bush.

Foriegn policy wise, yup. Obama has certainly "evolved" after bashing Bush for years on the same actions. Expanding wars, intervention, Gitmo, NHS... the question comes down to competence.

If this country is being governed by human beings. A really smart main frame computer could assimilate a gigantic amount of data 24/7 and make "recommendations" to the powers that be. That's why Obama has turned into Bush. He's reading probability charts and has decided its better to hit our enemies before they hit us. Plus, Obama wants to get re-elected and doesn't want a 9/11 on his watch. I doubt any computer could have predicted Japan's horrorshow, but I'm sure some mainframe is advising the Japanese government on how to proceed with the ongoing crisis. I think the real problem is getting quick accurate data from parts of the world where the USA is thought of as the Great Satan etc. Some of our own citizens are just as dangerous as Osama and his boys. In the battle between security vs. personal freedoms, personal freedom loses every time. I think the last President who actually had real compassion for the rest of the planet was Jimmy Carter. Every President since, including Obama, has viewed the rest of the world (our friends included) with varying degrees of suspiscion, contempt, threats of violence and violence. No wonder military spending is untouchable, even while our inferstructure, crumbles. Obama made like he was trying to make nice-nice, until Qadifi started going nuts and the computer that beat those two uber-nerds on Jeopardy started insisting that Obama send over a couple of B-2s so Qadifi thought twice about doing something really stupid. America is special. The rest of the world isn't. They should do as we say, not as we do.

America is special. America is very lucky. America is arrogant, that's what scares me.

Everything is special with the right vantage point! Funny how arrogant and ignorant seem to go hand in hand.

"It's time for Qaudaffi to go"

The United States may consider sending troops into Libya with a possible international ground force that could aid the rebels, according to the general who led the military mission until NATO took over.

Army Gen. Carter Ham also told lawmakers Thursday that added American participation would not be ideal, and ground troops could erode the international coalition and make it more difficult to get Arab support for operations in Libya. ...

Ham said the operation was largely stalemated now and was more likely to remain that way since America has transferred control to NATO.

"The rights of the Syrian people must be respected"

But it's not time for Assad to go.

"If you're complaining about the price of gas and you're only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know," Obama said laughingly. "You might want to think about a trade-in."...

Well, now, here's my point. If you're complaining about the price of gas and you're only getting eight miles a gallon--(laughter)--you may have a big family, but it's probably not that big. How many you have? Ten kids, you say? Ten kids? (Laughter.) Well, you definitely need a hybrid van then. (Laughter.) . . .

while not the same magnitude, it's kinda like how israel and jewish organizations were all over that mel gibson's passion movie. i think israel still refuses to import the movie, though it's a huge hit in palestine.
