I totally believe in bottomless pits.

Well, I used to. And now, I Want to Believe.

Wait, are you referring to the other Mel's Hole? I heard that one's pretty deep. But it's not ours, it's in some other place.

There are two Mel's Holes, see - one of them is in MN, and the other one is bottomless:

hmm some folks invoke various paranormal explanations for this: www.actionsquad.org/crawlspace1 ... separately, over the years several people who claim to be able to know such things have claimed my house (where that tale came to fruition) is haunted ... I don't think I believe in ghosts, but I do believe in very strange things that we really don't understand, so I don't rule as much out as I used to.

The approach I'd take in explaining this "synchronicity" is that those teapots were once really popular. A lot of people in this area had teapots like that.

Fair enough. But in the context the coincidence occurred in, it didn't and doesn't hold much clout for me.

I don't really expect it to change other people's minds, though, especially those who consider all coincidences 'mere.'

Maybe you have a psychic connection with that style of teapot. Or it is shaped to resonate with your unique electro-magnetic brain-waves. I wonder where else you will find one.

I don't know why this wasn't obvious instantly, thanks.

wow...that's a really trippy story...you had made the purchase BEFORE you found the one buried beneath your home and it turns out to be the same in every manner...cool...I love when shit like this happens...

I'll tell you what, I collect tea pots...I don't have one like that and I have quite a few...not that it has anything to do w/ your story...but really, what are the chances that the one that catches your fancy was in your house all along???

nice...

my question would be what led to a teapot getting buried in the crawlspace, and perhaps what else lies just below.

Yeah, I actually wonder about what else may be down there, too - even have a metal detector I wanted to bring in there and scan with ... but for whatever reason haven't done it.

Of course, if there's a skeleton or three down there, the metal detector won't help.
