School Daze -- great She's Gotta Have It -- great Do the Right Thing -- great Jungle Fever -- so-so Crooklyn -- didn't like it Malcolm X -- loved it Mo Better Blues -- liked it except for the overblown Jewish stereotyping Bamboozled -- didn't see it but want to Summer of Sam -- was okay -- I expected a bit moreWhat did I leave out? I'm forgetting the name...The basketball one with Denzel Washington and Ray Allen. I liked it, kind of a corny premise (jailbird dad can get his sentence cut short if he convinces his highschool superstar son to commit to the state university), but I still enjoyed it. IP: Logged |

You forgot: Get on the Bus (the Million Man March)The basketball movie was called He Got Game Bamboozled was OK, but the ending was completely ridiculous. I thought that Summer of Sam was one of the better things he's done. Not as good as Do the Right Thing, obviously, but a good film all the same.

Yeah, I love the Crooklyn soundtrack - if even for just the Staples 'Respect Yourself', which is a great tune. Other good ones too IP: Logged |

BUMPI just re-watched Do the Right Thing over the weekend. Great, great movie. I like how there are no heroes and no real villans in the film. Makes you think about who you are sympathizing with and why. IP: Logged |
