Chelsea...have you ever tried to go through an arthouse or contracting house? They find clients for you and generally pay very well. Sometimes you can work at home. It works pretty well if you have a lot of Graphic Design experience. IP: Logged |

I kind of do, I was working through freelance agencies and when times were good it worked out okay, When the economy took a turn for the worse, it became very evident that they were out for themselves. For instance, an Art Director would see my work which I optimized and posted in my unpaid time as a marketing tool. They would call asking for me, and the agency would try to show them other's work, so they could take a bigger cut. They also took great liberties with holding me open for flakey clients and passing up other legit offers extended for me. Worked great for them, sucked for me when I needed the income. Thanks Susan. Is that what you wre talking about?------------------ C40 C40 C40 GO! [This message has been edited by Chelsea40ozBondage (edited 08-29-2002).] IP: Logged |

Hey folks - hope I'm not being mistaken for a nasty little spammer, but I figure that if some of you are seriously looking for work, I might be able to help ya.Here's another order that just came in over the wire, and they need about ten people for day shifts, and about ten more for night shifts. This is the same client that I posted about earlier, and I think Ollie can tell you about it as well. The pay range is something like $10 - $11/hr DOQ, although I don't have the final word on that yet. Doc Prep - Preparing mortgage files for scanning. Pull staples, find appropriate documents, check for information using a checklist. Production oriented setting. Work with FHA - case binders - scanning - going through documents, etc. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. It's not the most exciting job, admittedly, but if you need a paycheck, and you're willing to show up opn time and do the work, call me, and I'll help set you up. IP: Logged |

Hmmm...I was trying to edit this post earlier, and accidentally deleted it. Let's try it again - Here's another job that came across my desk - this is all the info I have on it, and to be be eligible for the position, you would have to register with us first. Job description: parts person. Working in parts department, dealing a lot with technicians. Shipping, receiving, billing, etc. Lots of computer work, ability to work with all internal customers. Also includes: phones, data entry, good communication, good keyboarding skills, dependable, mature, responsible. Would really like someone who would like this job and want to stay with this company long term. I believe it pays around $13 - 14/hr. Call me if interested, and we'll try to get the wheels in motion. Is anyone going to go for this? I am a certifiable badass in my field but I am getting desperate. Like, gogo dancing at Ground Zero (actually that wouldn't be so bad) or cocktailing at Shiek's desperate. i have to come up with an inordinate amount of money and have very little time to do so. Run, Lola, Run! The clock is ticking. But even after that I need to have reliable employment lined up. I have such a fire under my ass, I would be a real good catch right now. Highly motivated to secure and keep a job!!But if someone else needs this position I suppose it wouldn't make much sense to take it from someone else who needs it. Actually, at the career stage I am at I should be making more money than this in my field, but since work is not forthcoming I'd be grateful for anything reasonable. I wrote "since" instead of "sense"? Now that's demonstrative of some quality keyboarding! ------------------ C40 C40 C40 GO!

Hey kids - Our office is getting bombarded with applications from folks who don't really have any of the kind of work experience we need for our clients. Meanwhile, I've seen a few TCPunks pass through our doors and wind up with something that at the very least will put some food on the table. Currently, we could use some people who have mortgage experience - especially closing and payoffs. If any of you have that in your background, give me a call!IP: Logged |

Hmmm...in an ironic twist of luck, I just learned that I'm going to be replaced by a machine - or should I say, the machine. Apparently, they're going to bring in a crack team of highly skilled sales professionals to ace me out of my job, in about a week or so. This means I won't be able to get any more TCPunks jobs after that, and I'll be looking for one myself. Any leads out there?IP: Logged |

If anyone has serving and/or hosting experience and is intersted in working in trendy uptown place and making some decent cash....Mrs. Vladmyr works a couple nights/weekends a week @ Chino Latino for extra cash and they are hiring for the next couple weeks for some servers as well as hosts. Piercings, dyed hair, tats and attitude are fine/encouraged. Dress code is black. Hosting pays around $10/hr and you pretty much just have to stand around and look pretty. Servers are just like anywhere kinda depends on the night, but I know she usually walks w/anywhere between $50-200+ a night. IP: Logged |

J. Free, I am sorry. I would comfort you at Bob's, but I have a slew of punk work to get done over the next month or so. If only I could afford a laptop! Chino Latino's sounds great, but dammit all of a sudden my evenings have a newfound value of semi-constructive use and blissfully semi-sober domesticity.IP: Logged |

I'm bumping this thread again, due to a few of us beating our brains out here, trying to cut through all the faux-bureaucratic BS and just get a job. I'm also currently trying to learn how to apply for some kind of disability, due to problems with the surgery I had, and any info in that area would be helpful, as well.IP: Logged |
