out of nowhere, i decided that i want to learn to play the violin. this is something that i have been thinking about for a while now, and i just bought one. trouble is, i have no clue how to play it.does anyone here know how to play violin, want to teach me how to play violin, or know of a cheap place i could look to get lessons? any help would be appreciated! West Bank School of Music? I don't know much about them except that I get a kot of mailers from them.You might want to think about the cello instead. Women with violins are pretty sexy, but cellos are even sexier.  IP: Logged |

I played violin in school, and I sucked. I would recommend the "Picken Parlor". It's a folk music store (just outside the metro area, in bloomington i think?) They have lessons and group lessons. I don't know how expensive, but probably not too bad. They also have cool instruction books there. IP: Logged |

Well, whenever I pick up a new instrument I just keep playing it until it sounds right, and you memorize where all the notes you want to hit are. That is, if you DON'T want to learn sheet music. That's the only way my method works. Heh.IP: Logged |
