how about I give a heads up on what bug everyone seems to be having? that way, if you get sick, you can just say, "yeah, I hear it's going around"this week it's all diarrhea. some suggestions if you should find yourself with this lovely condition: eat the BRAT diet (bananas rice applesauce toast) feel free to use those over-the-counter drugs like Pepto-Bismol and Immodium fluids fluids fluids IP: Logged |

I utilize the BRAT meal all the time. If you're gonna go out to drink alot of beer, it's good to fill yourself up with BRAT before or after the fact. IP: Logged |

Somehow I made it 30+ years without ever hearing of this! Must be the potassium/protein/constipation/starch properties...IP: Logged |

Any relation to this puking bug that loads of folks I know have fallen prey to? wrongAnswer got hit hard last weekend, as have a number of people I work with. (I've been spared thus far). And none of these unfortunates have been on any cruise ships recently. Do you guys even see that much of stuff like that? I suppose most people stay in bed and tough it out, since it seems to pass in 24 hrs. Yeech! Wash those hands, kiddies. And quit sticking 'em in your mouths, for Chrissakes. . .

it probably is related to the diarrhea thing, being that it is all the same body system. and yeah, we do tend to see a lot of it. most people do stay home, but there are always others who just don't know how to take care of themselves. clear liquid diet (anything that is a liquid at room temp...popsicles, jello..) until the symptoms clear, then add other food slowly. popsicles tend to work well, as they hit the stomach in small amounts, so you are less likely to throw it back up. *must add this though, if there is pain, you need to be seen.

I have caught the dreadedWinter Cold ACK! So don't feel offended if I end up being a little crabby for the next few days, it's nothing personal, just that I think my nose is on fire, and my throat is actually made of razor blades. Thank you for letting me bitch about my cold. IP: Logged |

My daughter has finally recovered from her terrible week-long flu. (Mustard blast diapers for all who are curious.) My wife got it last Thursday and I've missed two days of work taking care of the mini. I ate some White Castle jalapeno cheesburgers last night to kill anything inside me. Wife still ill. Am I next? She started throwing up last Monday night, which lasted an entire day. The diarrhea has lasted until yesterday. It might still be going. She hasn't had any stool action in a day. It's really bad.IP: Logged |

Hm. I wonder if the adult version is as bad. That's a lot of fluid loss. Is she eating/drinking yet?

Me neither...for the first time in my life I got a flu shot. I wonder if the shot was for this flu though? IP: Logged |
