Thought I put in a thread about any sales going on on anything. One of my co-worker is a Sale Shopper and been giving me info on sales.Couple days ago, Target Halloween stuff was 90% off. I bought extra costumes for my boy for playtime. And today, went to Element furniture store, bought a white fluffy sofa for $300. My co-worker told me I'm bold cuz I have a boy and it's a white sofa. Hell, I'll pay $300 for it! They also have clearance room in the back. Worth checking it out. [This message has been edited by Evil Angel (edited 11-08-2002).] IP: Logged |

I worked for Elements for a few years. One good thing to do is check out any merch off the floor VERY CAREFULLY. Then find the manager and ask for a mark down.I spend a lot of time in the housewares dept at tjmaxx in har mar mall. such good deals... IP: Logged |

Always check out the clearance racks at Target. Things I have scored lately: 4 packs of lightbulbs with a fifth one free on side of package@50 cents a package(bought the entire display) because bulbs don't go bad, halloween makeup 90%off for my juggalo teen,2 pack of ink for my printer with glossy photo paper thrown in for the price of one ink normally, 50 cd-r's memorex for $9. Never buys toilet paper till its on sale and always buys at least 12 rolls at a time. Usually buy more if I have the money. Then I don't have to think about it for awhile.Have bought a few things at Slumberland clearance store. Have to check out the new Everyday People in Uptown. HA! Good one! I actually got said pajamas at GUS (Lyndale and Lake), and they were discounted. I never had a problem with the length of the bottoms until that fateful night. The other ones I wear are too short, and my legs get cold in the winter. I guess I should call this my "WHAT ELSE IS WRONG WITH ME" thread. IP: Logged |

Hmmm... very tough question.. it's one of those places I know how to get to, but find it hard to describe.. I'll try.. Okay, over there somewhere, there is a post office on the road just north of Target.. okay, around the parking lot from the post office, there is another store, but I can't remember the name of it. On the far side of that store is a door next to a loading dock door. It's sorta' by the car dealership. The place isn't marked with a name or anything... it's in there. After rereading that, I understand it's not the best set of directions in the world... I'll go there later this week and write down a street name and address. I would like to check out that Clearance Target. For folks in New York, check into "Parson Fashion School" for discount on linens. I don't know how often they have discount events. Last June, I bought a $800 duvet cover for $100. It may be spendy but hell, good quality stuff.[This message has been edited by Evil Angel (edited 11-11-2002).] IP: Logged |

For anyone who loves shoes (and I did hear Ms. Knobgoblin express a love for boots this weekend) check out Petters. Tons of women's shoes and boots came in this week.IP: Logged |

If they're still up to their past quality level, they've got some good stuff there. My mom got a pair of red Jack Purcells there a few years ago for $15. IP: Logged |

DSL - the Petter's on E. Lake is in the same strip mall that the Target store down there lives in. It's right next to the Radio Shack. There's several locations for Petter's. I believe there's another one off 94 just outside of downtown St. Paul...what's the name of that strip mall - Sun Ray or something like that? I've been to the MOA's once and it was terrible. With Lutey's advice, I got me a fine pair of boots at Petter's last week. Also a great leopard print handbag for $4. They have all the Spiegel's garish clothing there, too.IP: Logged |

I have to recommend a couple places for those of us poor folks...'scuse me, *bargain hunters* with taste in NE Mpls:Unique Thrift on 37th St NE. (good boots, books and jeans) Goodwill in Blaine. (it's right next to a Target where they also seem to function as a Target clearance place) SR Harris - Brooklyn Park (the only fabric store where you can get 20 yrds of velvet brocade drapery fabric for $10) That place rocks!

The only seamstress guy, maybe.I was over in the vicinity of the fabled Clearance Target last week, but didn't notice any obvious unmarked warehouses. (The post office is on Beltline Blvd, which connects to Hwy 7.) IP: Logged |

Yes, Ma'am. It's not a huge facility, but there are a lot of Rubenesque ladies in curlers shopping there, and you know they know where the deals are. IP: Logged |
