Some of you guys are gonna think I'm an idiot for loving this band, but you can just fuck right off. Kinda punk, kinda world music, kinda polka, kinda twangy. Kinda reuniting. They play the Mainroom on Tuesday January 21st. $15 adv & $17 dr 8p.m. 21+ID. Tour schedule here: http://www.crackersoul.com/tour/ I guess they have a new box set out called "Cigarettes and Carrot Juice." And Victor Krummenacher has a new CD coming out in January (he's the CVB bass player, his latest CD was fucking awesome). And there is also a CD of CVB doing Fleetwood Mac's "TUSK" in it's entirety. And also a newer Camper Van Chadbourne CD. And Also a special issue Victor Krummenacher cover song and outtake disk. Shit those guys have been busy. More info: Victor Krummenacher: http://www.magneticmotorworks.com/ Camper Van Beethoven: http://www.pitch-a-tent.com/ [This message has been edited by m o n k (edited 12-05-2002).] IP: Logged |

Don't fret, M o N K.One of my driving music favorites is my cassette tape with CVB's "Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart" on one side Mekons "Rock & Roll" on the other side. "..and in the mind of Ronald Reagan. Wheels they turn and gears they grind..." Fucking great band. IP: Logged |

Yeah I guess I sound a little defensive. But I have received alot of shit in the past. My moniker kinda comes from the Monks Of Doom, a CVB offshoot.IP: Logged |

Not to turn this thread into some kind of confessional... but I also have a soft spot for Camper Van Beethoven. Really liked the first couple of records and saw em in the Entry a time or two but then lost interest for awhile. Reacquainted myself with those 2 rec.s after picking up that last V. Krummanacher LP (all cuz I was smitten by the Maybe A True Love MP3) and I appreciate 'em now more than then, I think. As an aside.. does anyone know if there was/is a direct connection between Camper Van Beethoven and Souled American? This morning I've been listening to a Souled American reissue (from the late 80s) and it sounds A LOT like CVB. [This message has been edited by crack up (edited 12-05-2002).] IP: Logged |

Awright! I don't know about the Souled American connection. They do have many connections to keep track of though.IP: Logged |
