A lot of it we stole or my best friends Dad would hook us up (those days laws were different). Also there was this guy, Wildman or something, that would hook us up if he was in a good mood. The life in the village.................IP: Logged |

Breaking into houses, watering down the parents stash and spotting.Spotting: You stand by the 7-11 dumpster and wait for somebody who looks cool. Psst...hey buddy, can you get us a bottle of Boone's Farm? "Sure, meet me around back" Then the fucker tries to drive away with your cash...so your pal down the street takes his window out with a brick. Back in the day we'd hang out in front of the LQ and ask passersby to buy it for us. Then there was the time when I was 16 & I picked up a hitch-hiker & told him I drive him if he'd buy 2 bottles of MD 20/20. I got SCHLITZED!!! in retrospect, even though things were safer back then, it was still stooopid.IP: Logged |

We actually had a run-down little store in my town that would sell to minors; they'd get busted every once in a while and have to lay low. So then we'd go to this scary house where we used to buy pot and get them to hook us up. They were major fucking dirtbags, and I was kind of a babe in the woods at the time - it's a wonder I never got ripped off, beaten up, etc.IP: Logged |

My dad made wine for a while. Lots and lots of underage homebrew wine drunks were had. I remeber the Dakota Port 77 as being quite inebriating. Others: spot someone at Henn-Lake and proceed North to the bridges, crawl through doggie door into someguys garage and steal the stash he was hiding from his wife, My friends dad who drank immense ammounts of whiskey and probably didn't notice the piddly 8 ozs we took.IP: Logged |

Not very tricky since I grew up in West Germany. I was swilling at Beirfests at 11, and a regular at a club called The Chalet at 13! My mom caught me drinking uzo there once when I ran away, and threw the contents of the shot glass at me. Then when that country threw me out, at 15, I was sent to Lousiana which had the most liberal drinking laws in the nation. I turned 18 at the local alternative bar, where I had been a regular since starting the university at 16, and they announced it on the PA!!! I did modify my laminated military dependants' ID though, great forgery skills.IP: Logged |

I used to live on Penn and Broadway in North Mpls, next to a liquor store, moved there when I was 19. The first time I went there, I let them know I lived next door. Eventually I was writing checks, and they never carded me. I lived there for a year. I've always looked old and bitter.IP: Logged |

Byron, I think you need to go back and look at your Jr. year high school pic, you looked pretty sweet and innocent back then. Of course then everything went to hell.

As a youth I was so appalled by my dad's alcoholism that I decided I was never going to drink. Besides, the few times I'd tried a sip of someone's beer it nearly made me retch. That all changed when I got my own place and started inviting Tom and Mickey over for movies. They'd bring the beer and I gradually started liking it. Our suds of choice? conversation with new girl at work"I get into bars all the time, no one ever cards me" "really, I thought all bars carded now, where do you drink?" (ok, you need the visual here, this was said with the head bobbing back and forth, and bouncing blonde pigtails) "South Beach! and Tropix! well, and all the bars in Cottage Grove except the one that the police there go to cuz I used to date one and they all know me!" "when do you turn legal?" "in just a little over a year, but really, carding is never a problem with me. I really like tequilla shots! I bet you used to party alot at one time too! Do you still go out drinking?" I told her never unless it was my birthday or some other big event. And then I only went to bars that were quiet and played soft easy listening jazz. And that I never had more then one drink. IP: Logged |

Molly, who is this girl? I grew up out there (well, I'm actually back there for the summer). I'm pretty sure that she can't get into either "club" in Cottage Grove...the Country one cards everyone and my Dad works the door at the one where "all the cops go." If she is getting into that place, I want to warn him, as he'd kinda be responsible if the club got caught....IP: Logged |

truthfully, I think she was lying. maybe she got in once, but I don't know. South Beach and Tropix are two of the sleazier trendy bars in the city, and if I were a cop, they would be the first ones I'd check for i.d.'s. and with the pigtails, well, there is nothing very mature about her look. In fact, she looks like she just came off the a kiddie porn set. well, I guess that explains the South Beach and Tropix mention, doesn't it.[This message has been edited by molly coddle (edited 06-17-2002).] IP: Logged |

Wow, did somebody grew up in Cottage Grove? That's where I live for right now. The town is boring but cheap to live. My son goes to this great home daycare. So I wouldn't dare to move into the city til he's in grade school. So right now I live the ghetto of the Cottage Grove. Can anyone guessed that?IP: Logged |

Friends' older siblings always bought for us. Usually some sort of Schnapps, like tropical or peach flavor. *gag* We'd mix it with Kool-Aid or Mountain Dew or some such disgusting shit. Talk about a sugar nightmare! Mark Abraham (Mankato's Town Drunk-Punk) did us the honor once in a while, but we had to buy him something too...felt bad condoning his alcoholism. When I was 17, I called my mom from a friends' house (we'd exhausted all of our possibilities for a "buyer") and asked her if she'd go get 40s for me and my friends. (My mom drinks bailey's in her coffee like twice a year! That's it for alcohol...) She was kinda shocked and said, "I will NOT go into a store and buy several 40 ounce bottles of malt liquor." I said, "Okay. Will you get one bottle of Captain Morgan?" She said, "yes." IP: Logged |

Mark kills me, seems the more drunk he gets the more "punk" he acts. Sometimes I'm suprised he is still alive.

when i turned 18 my mom bought so long as i promised to stay at home. oddly enough she drank pigs arse and box wine too,(mom is a classy lady) so there was twice as much brew at home, and my mom never noticed the 6 in my pack. before that it was pilfering from her booze stash an filling it back up with water. then she had a mix drink party with friends and everyone was wondering why mom's drinks were so lousy. i split immediately.IP: Logged |

In Chicago there was a mexican restaurant that i think provided a good deal of the alcohol for my entire high school. a classic birthday moment-the waitresses declaring "happy 18th birthday! Did you want a margarita or a pina colada?" i said both, of course. IP: Logged |

how did I get booze under age? fake i.d., naturally.as far as getting carded, I still get carded. I don't consider it that much of a compliment though, as I am sure it's just because those establishments have a policy that everyone must have an i.d. on their person. I highly doubt anyone is considering me questionably in my 20's IP: Logged |

I know this one guy Zues Van Hagar from Cali (I shit you not; check the silly names thread) and he trimmed some hair off his head, then used his mother's eyelash glue to adhere it on to his upper lip and armpits and went to buy cigs and beer. The clerk had to sell to him. "A" for effort.------------------ C40 C40 C40 GO IP: Logged |
