HAH! Now that is funny shit. Hey archiver, take a look at 10th grade and you'll see a certain Murphy who looks like he's 11 years old. High school was very painful. BTW, Dean Paulson did, and does rule.IP: Logged |

i have a good story about dave sarrazin. rather indirectly, but... ting kong, dave's band of, who the hell knows how far back they go, was named after a guy-- ting kong (oddly enough) who was my chemistry partner in 12th grade. ran into ting, circa 1988, summer session calculus class at the u... "how the hell are you, ting? it's been, like, what, 5 years. are you taking a class here summer session?""actually i'm teaching one..." (and the funniest part is, that i'm still in school-- best 25 years of my life!) [This message has been edited by guernica (edited 05-28-2002).] IP: Logged |

Clifford Davis, Granted an honorary diploma at the ripe old age of 22, majored in primative football gameboy device and was instrumental in the destruction of a beloved west high teacher Mr. Persha after his untimely move M-U. Mr. Persha had the habit of making impassioned speechs while spitting as he talked and must have been under some administrative strain after his abrupt transfer from West. One day Clifford wore those goofy round bubble glasses with the windshield wipers afixed to them to class. It pretty much spelled the end of a once bright and persuasive tenure. IP: Logged |

I know that I was not just a dork, but THE dork. But as season's change, it's amazing to see how I've blossomed into a lovely young lady with something to offer that special someone. Sigh. quote: Originally posted by guernica: hey, i skipped a grade! actually marshall u was 6th thru 12th grade, smartass. and i suspect there are some good pics of you in the southwest one, so watch it, buddy... there was actually a guy from marshall who graduated (finally) at age 22. clifford? sonic, do you remember him?

Thanks for reminding me. If I had more hair I'd go back to that myoo-lay haircut and you could take pictures of ME at the state fair! I think all of these photos came from the same book, right? It was the first year we had West and Central people. I saw Stinson there once through an open classroom door, asleep in the back row of driver's ed! Thanks seriously though, for printing the blurb under the photo. I look forward to explaining to Sarah what it means. How do I change my screen name to one of my high school nicknames?[This message has been edited by bug (edited 05-29-2002).] IP: Logged |

Hmmmm... well, Sonic and Jzzz I've already figured out. They were easy, but I don't think Sonic was a Freeschooler. You, on the other hand, are presenting a problem.. since I can only assume we probably hung out together. Most perplexing. I bet if you gave me your nieghborhood (Como, Kenwood, Prospect Park, etc..) I could figure it out.

Nope, I went to M-U 7th,8th,9th,10th. 11th I did two trimesters at Central and one trimester at Southwest and I dont recall going to the 12th grade at all, the reason you dont find many pix of me is that I knew that later in life this sort of thing was bound to happen.

Actually, when I first met him, he was this shy skinny nerdly kid.. I sort of took him under my wing.. showed him the ropes, taught him some moves, etc. Helped him through the awkward teenage years. I couldn't be prouder of how he turned out. [This message has been edited by The Artful Dodger (edited 05-30-2002).] IP: Logged |

I got a SW '79 yearbook, anyone wanna tell me who to look up? e-mail if you don't wanna put it up for everone to see.'Twas the first year of the soccer club, the goalie looks like he doesn't know how to play. Understandable for 79. My dad remembers when he played he wasn't any good but it didn't matter, his friend was in Germany and was nothing special over there, but was the star at Hill-Murray.
