I ran across a webpage for History In Three Chords when searching on the band Oil Tasters.I never heard of them when I was in the Twin Cities. Did they ever play there, I wonder. I have an LP and a single by them. [This message has been edited by larrybob (edited 08-09-2002).] [This message has been edited by larrybob (edited 08-09-2002).] IP: Logged |

Yeah! The Oil Tasters played the Entry, I remember seeing them in maybe '82 or so. Fun live band, Drums, Bass and Sax. At the time that was a pretty unique lineup and they did pretty well with it despite the limitations of saxaphones. They sorta reminded me of the band Blurt from the same period, a Drums, Guitar and Sax band.IP: Logged |

No, of course not. I tried finding info on the band Blurt, but came up only with references the their name. I'll dig out the record and look again, they're I think from the UK, like '81 or so, sorta funky but they rocked out.IP: Logged |

That compilation has a lot of crap but some of it is damn, damn good. This is the kind of thing I'd eventually like to put together for Madison, though probably something less broad and definitive. I actually just talked to Bill Feeny from the Appliances-SFB and he was really into the idea...IP: Logged |
