These magazines pretty much ruled my life when I was a wee lad. This site has dern near every cover of these fine magazines. Frazetta.
Anyone have any similar experiences? Any females out there read these things?

Ha! Those covers were the best! Sadly I had to sell all my Creepys and Fangorias when I was in college. Kept my Famous Monsters, tho. I'm gonna be buried with those.

Famous Monsters Of Filmland. A fine publication. Kids are so spoiled these days. To actually see any of those movies that they talked about in that magazine you had to clip out one of those little order forms and send in for a 5 minute super8 reel of some crappy horror movie, like "Beast From 20,000 Fathoms". You could only imagine what these fantastic movies were were like from looking at pictures of Ray Harryhausen sculpting a clay model of a cyclops (cool!).
I kept readin' em, though. My dad made me throw my collection in the trash because we moved. That's a really sad memory, actually. I remember walking away from the trash can in tears.

I can't believe how mean parents can be sometimes. As much of a jerk as my dad can be,he never made me give up my beloved monster mags. That story just saddened me.
