I think someone did mention Cafe Flesh in the other punk movie thread but it deserves another, I heard that it was a porno movie that for reasons (if you seen it) was not sucsessfull at turning on your average pud-puller, but I think it must have been intentionaly made that way, will internet hunt it and find its history. About.com The writing is snappy and brilliant, by far the most literary of any of the fuck films I've seen. No wonder- the script credited to "Herbert W. Day" was penned by Jerry Stahl, famed Hollywood writer (Permanent Midnight) and notorious junkie hipster. Note all the heroin chic references in the dialogue. The punk rock inhabitants of Cafe Flesh look as if they're strung out on a whole lot more than just lack of sex. made in 82 [This message has been edited by Jzzz (edited 10-16-2000).] IP: Logged |

oh, before i forget, there was an extremely horrible movie called Skinhead: Second Coming of Hate. if anyone has ever seen that before, you know how laughable and pathetic it is-not just the plot outline (which is horrible in itself), but also the actors, scenery, etc. etc. bad portrayal of skinheads-the movie seems to portray that ALL skinheads are racist and ignorant, not to mention violent.IP: Logged |

My favorite punk type movie would have to be Repo Man.....but not the version most of you remember. That movie gets even funnier when aired on the USA "Up all night" show in the 80s or 90s. They called the cast back (or got sound a likes) to re-do all the swearing into babble. "Some Ferdigie Gypse Bandit Mellon Farmer!" Classic! IP: Logged |

Cheech and Chong's "Up in Smoke". Besides being a fine film in its own right, the ending battle of the bands scene at The Roxy shows a brief snippet of the Dils playing "You're Not Blank". Also, Cheech and Chong get pulled over by a cop on a Moto Guzzi Eldorado.[This message has been edited by Swillmongrel (edited 09-28-2000).] IP: Logged |

Speaking as a Lil Punk (this must have come up before (it just played at Oak St.)).The most punk movie I've seen is "The Loneliness of a Long Distance Runner". He's perfectly his own man in a fuck-the-man kinda way. I also have to give a nod to "Funnybones". Jerry Lewis a punk? No. But this movie is big in punk themes. IP: Logged |
