Hell yes! I dig 'em. Reunion tour sent chills down my spine. What a great time! I like the spin-offs as well. Tones on Tail, Love & Rockets, solo stuff.IP: Logged |

I like some of Peter Murphy's solo stuff, too. Even though he had a video on MTV for "Cuts You Up".IP: Logged |

One of my all time fav bands hands down. I've seen em in various forms several times including peter murphy solo several times, tones on tail, daniel ash solo and of course love and rockets. Yes reunion tour was fuckin' amazing, saw em here and twice in Chicago, their double live Gotham from that tour is great. IP: Logged |

I love the first LP and early singles. They lost me after that, got less punk and too arty. I never saw them in the 80's but caught the Chicago show on the reunion tour. That was awesome, great majestic old victorian theatre. Perfect setting for that sort of show. The only thing that fucked it up was they had the joker from Smashing Pumpkins sing "telegram sam" and he didn't know the words, had them written on a big poster on the floor of the stage and still fucked it up. A great and original band like Bauhaus doesn't need some pop idol from some one hit wonder MTV band on stage fucking up a T Rex song. Bogus! Otherwise it was great. IP: Logged |

I saw the last Bauhaus tour in Seattle which was awesome, but it sounds like the venue was a lot cooler in Chicago from all of the reports that I have heard.IP: Logged |

I caught the gig here at the State Theater. Unfortunately my 6th row seat was right against hte wall and the stage-left speaker column blocked 1/3 of my view of the stage.Still a great gig. Anyone catch them when they played Duffys in '83? IP: Logged |

Man, was it cold that night. 20 below and the rumor was they had been hassled by the law and made to stand in the freezing cold, and were sorta mad about it but they still put on a great show. IP: Logged |

yahh...I think the show actually took place late in 82 and i've got some pics from that night somewhere but most of em turned out like crap (due to strobe lighting and cuz for some of the show P. Murphy was underlit with a flourescent/blue light that was directed upwards, towards his chin). All I'd heard by em at the time was Telegram Sam so I was pretty much blown away from the beginning of the set cuz the first # they played was Third Uncle. Wild. Later on they played a rather rowdy version of Night Time by The Strangeloves. no pretense that particular night... just a great rock band. IP: Logged |

Maybe we could work out a trade. I've got a crappy audience recording from that show. I wasn't there (I was 14 at t eh time with no fake ID) and I don't remember who I got the tape from. IP: Logged |

Yeah Felix you're right that was pretty crappy, I must have blocked that out. I think that other guy that came and played the congas was stephen perkins from jane's addiction as well, but I'm not 100% sure on that. IP: Logged |

saw the reunion in Houston and Id bet ya some bucks that 3/4 of the band probably looks better now than in their heyday, Daniel Ash is still an old rockstar but Peter looked healthier than in the video for cuts you Up.IP: Logged |

Got a used copy of "press the eject" at Extreme Noise today. One of only a handfull of truly great live albums. I think a lot of it is superior to the studio versions. Only Judas Priest "unleashed in the east" and MC5 "kick out the jams" come to mind as having this sort of stature for a live album. IP: Logged |

i bought a cassette of "the skys gone out" a few years ago. the whole lp was on one side of the tape. i flipped the tape and the other side was "press the eject" i was REALLY surprised and searched the tape cover for a clue to this, it revealed nothing nor did the printing on the cassette itself mention anything about this delicious surprise. i was a happy consumer that day!IP: Logged |

Press the Eject... is fucking awesome! That whole album kicks major ass, Rose Garden Funeral of Sores is brilliant, blows me away whenever I hear it! I didn't know it was on the back of the sky's gone out tape, but it makes sense as I know the initial UK pressings of the Sky's Gone Out included Press The Eject live LP as a bonus. Also if you pick up the CD version there's a few bonus tracks including Waiting For the Man done w/Nico (some of the tracks were included in the initial non bonus release that came w/an extra 7") IP: Logged |

direct burner, or download to your computer and then to disc? If it's a direct one, we should just plan a weekend day to burn a load of stuff...otherwise, we just need to figure out the semantics of doing the same thing on our computer (I'm technologically impaired). IP: Logged |

Well, my snaps from the show at Duffy's in '82 still haven't turned up but here's one that was shot by someone else and ran in City Pages. a few quotes from the(florid but accurate) review by P.D.Larson that the pic accompanied. "The show starts quite late. The singer/front man attacks two conga drums as the band crashes through the opening number--"flat out Broke"--with an unbelievably forceful, yet subliminally chaotic intensity that stuns the instantly captivated crowd." "That four mysteriously low-key Brits--no sleeve photos ever--from Northampton could deliver a brain-rattling kick in the collective head to a small crowd of hip and unhip alike in an appropriately incongrous setting is a testament, indeed proof, to the vitality of the rock and roll animal" "Lead singer Peter Murphy marches to the frantic beat of his own different drum; guitarist Daniel Ash is a true spectacle--Johnny Thunders-meets-early-70's-glam-drag-punk" [This message has been edited by crack up (edited 10-25-2002).] IP: Logged |

2 nights ago, Trout, my 8 year old guinea pig, and little buddy finally took the dirt nap. I gave her a Bauhaus cermony, i even pulled out the collectors for her. We listened to Crowds like, 10 times in a row, and strangely enough, Trout died right at about midnight. She always liked listening to Bauhaus and real old Sonic Youth with me. But, unfortunately, she is still in our freezer. does anyone have a shovel i can borrow, so i can give her the proper funeral?IP: Logged |
