I thought we had a thread here..maybe not. Yeah, I saw them in London in 1980, then months later at Duffy's in town here. Me, I love them Furs. IP: Logged |

Definetly one of my faves, but only up to the 3rd one - "Mirror Moves" (I think) and afterwards = poopie! yup, I'm a snob -- but come on! - "The Ghost in you..."??? - besides, they not only lost their edge but also half their line-up by then...IP: Logged |

I think it's been almost a year ago that they were at First Avenue? Wish they'd come back. They are great--even in the New Millenium.IP: Logged |

Saw the Furs in 84 on the Mirror Moves tour. I've got about 8 different stories from that show. Buy me a cider and I'll tell ya a few.As a teaser I'll let ya in on this... the only piercing that I refuse to let close up was punched thru my left ear lobe scant hours before the concert. IP: Logged |

I went to see the Furs in 82 on the Forever Now tour, with my Mom! I didn't much like Forever Now or the later stuff. But s/t and Talk Talk Talk are awesome. The UK press of S/T is really cool, different mix, songs, and song order. I'm not allowed to play these records on tour any more since tour vans have broken down three times while the furs were playing. Home use only. IP: Logged |

Love `em. Requested an interview with Richard Butler and was told he wasn't doing any for Love Spit Love because he and his woman had just made a baby - which was easy to accept as a "no." A few months later me and the wife (I love that phrase) are up in Cold Spring, NY styling and profiling at a bar. Across from us is said Butler with a skank fucking `ho' and what appears to me to be a coke dealer. They were all SHITFACEDHOUSED. Then I knew what the real reason was why he didn't do interviews anymore and why he had become a musical footnote. Hope he cleans up. That was fugly.I have the Heartbeat remix and it's genuis. I've got the 7" where you can play the sleeve. I thought that was a genius idea.IP: Logged |

My 7" sleeve is all warped up and no longer playable. I loved that it was just "snippets" of each song on the album.. or as Richard Butler announces it at the beginning "This is a Psychedelic Furs commercial....Tell you what a fake you are... I'm into you like a train."Those first 2 furs records are still A-1 for beginning level bass lessons. IP: Logged |
