No, but a damn fine rock and roll trubador. One of the only white guys to get delta blues done in a way that dosen't make me cringe. (David Johansen and our own Baby Grant Johnson are 2 others)Thorogoods early albums, up thru Bad To The Bone, are amazing. After about 1985 he seemed to become just another classic rocker. "Haircut"? He's done better. But all of the "Maverick" album is one of the best road records ever, hands down. Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go get Dixie Fried!!! IP: Logged |

Yeah, he has a style that's his own. And actually has some soul. I can't tell the other few sucsessful white blues guys apart (SRV, Corey Stevens, ect.). They might be a little better technically, but they seem to be just playing the notes where Lonesome George seems to feeling them.[This message has been edited by Satan's Little Helper (edited 10-06-2002).] IP: Logged |

I really like his guitar playing on "Who Do You Love". Super-cool lyrics, too. Who wrote that song? Bo Diddley?IP: Logged |
