Anyone see them on Letterman the other night? He was hysterical bantering with Letterman. Although he looks a bit like Skeletor.....Anyway, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new song. I have yet to hear the new album, however I'm pretty excited about it. Seems Tom's up to his old self after the whole "Wildflowers" fiasco. Also he's coming in December. I personally can't wait. I saw him at the Met around 1980-1 ish and he was pretty good. I liked him okay until someone told me he's a wifebeater. I just can't look at him anymore.Edited to say that I should research this "rumor." [This message has been edited by MO (edited 10-09-2002).] IP: Logged |

I was at that infamous Dylan/Dead/Petty Metrodome show. Petty's set was the only one that didn't sound like mud, at least from where I was sittin'. Actually made me appreciate him more. "Should've know right then it was too good to last, God it's such a drag when you live in the past."

Yeah that's one show I would like to forget except the good hash we smoked before the show.

ten years ago, i lived in chicago in an apartment about 30 stories up. i was sleeping in the living room on this couch by a wall of windows. i woke to hear this smack! smack! smack! the window washer, 30 stories up was swinging back and forth on this little platform, headphones on, singing at the top of his lungs..."now i'm freeeeeeee, free falling" to this day, i think of this man every time i hear that song.IP: Logged |

Bygones Mr. CloudTom IS punk, he's just a mellow stoner punk. He went against corporate america back when they wanted to raise the price of his album (this was slated to be the first release to be upped in price from 7.98 to 9.98) He basically told them to fuck off and they didn't raise the price. He has also fought to have low ticket prices for his shows, and come on did you not see the video for "Don't Come Around Here No More"? That was totally punk. IP: Logged |

Tom Petty Well, I saw him at The ST Paul Civic Center Theater in 1980. The Fabulous Poodles opened. Old Redcloud is in the clouds you see, he was on the No Wave complilation with American Girl and they tried to sell him as NEW WAVE. The close cousin of PUNK. SO Love your Petty Kiddies. He's COOL.I gave up on him after Damn The Torpedos.IP: Logged |
