If you were at the Chicago Fugazi/Ex/Shellac show, you probably saw these idiots tossing paper about that said "i love bob weston" on it. I got hit on the head by a pile of them tossed off the balcony during the Ex set. I thought it was stupid and distracting, so I sent 'em this photo I lifted from their web site and changed a bit. This seemed to anger the big babies. They said the Ex was boring , Shellac was boring and Fugazi was going to be boring. They got kicked out. Waaah!
If you get a minute, go to their silly little site and email them about what you think of their little prank.http://www.geocities.com/ilovebobweston/index.html

these guys have been at every chicago shellac show I have been to, included the penultimate night of the lounge ax when we had to stand in line for 2.5 hrs in 30 degree weather. I mean there are bands I don't like but waiting that long to see a band just to hassle them is dedication or insanity.

we do have a "I love Bob Weston" flyer hanging up in our apartment because, esp my wife, we do love bob weston.

I concur with all opinions posted thus far. These people are idiots, and Bob Weston is cool. I also checked out there website and was not very impressed; I may email them. Good idea, although will this feed their desire for attention?

P.S. I also attended the Lounge Ax gig; what an awesome night, but one hell of a cold one waiting in line. Great lineup; Scrawl, Shellac, Thinking Fellers Union Local 282, and The Traitors.

Seems similar to the Urge Overkill "Stalkers", although these folks don't seem to have anything big against Bob Weston, whereas UO fully deserved any shit they received.

Still, something musta set em off.

Yeah UO, where are they now? They deserved so much more. These clowns however, when I received email from them, claim to have no grudge or anything against Bob or Shellac. But when I called 'em on just wanting to be noticed, they got all pissy about how Touch and Go records people thought it was funny , so why didn't I? Apparently this guy is some photographer and I said I thought he was trying to pad his portfolio, which I guess cheesed him off. I guess they can have fun, but I can't have my brand of fun. Bob doesn't really care either, but I just like to play the game too. Except I don't do it to get noticed.
Back to UO, have you heard any of that Nathan Katruud, oops I mean National Kato solo stuff? Kinda sad. They were gonna be HUGE, maaan!

The one guy in the main photo looks awfully familiar, but can't figure it out.

One of my big regrets is not beating up on all 3 of UO at once, when I had the chance in the entry basement one time.. "Hey Scotty, what's the problem?..." why I oughta...

I had Blackie and Nate both by the throat at the same time..They cowered like mice.

That shit is pretty stupid.

I was in Chicago once and found out that Killdozer was playing one of their last shows that night and it was walking distance from our friends house so I went. Guess what? Shellac was the opening band!!! And I didnt even expect it! I didn't see any I love Bob Weston signs then though.

These people should continue doing this dumb ass shit so it distracts them from a productive life. One could only hope they don't have children.

These is some stupid shit, don't get me wrong, but it goes to show... there are hundreds musicians around here, we feel free to give them more shit than they deserve. But make fun of fucking Fugazi or Shellac, and everyone comes out to defend em. Do they really need our vigilance?

I guess I don't really know or care enough about these people/bands to figure out the intentions of this. But I can't help but comment on this:

This little 'photo project' is no more sophisticated than senior high/college photo class assignment. It's hilarious to me that they think it's so cool and avant guard when it's really just a version of "take 20 pictures of people winking" or other similar, pedestrian assignments I had to do when I was a beginning art/design school grad. The concept is tired, and the results are not that interesting. The little bit of attention they get is related to the bands --their popularity, do these people love or hate them, etc.. Like most people who thrive on attention (negative or positive), they are counting on a knee-jerk reaction. An uninspiried, one-trick-pony approach, I think. Ho-hum.

What an idiot. Did you notice how many links (in RED) he had to your letters? Dude is really pissed off. Can he possibly really think he's that cool? Do you suppose that he actually has some friends/fans who think he's cool? And how big of a loser would THAT person have to be?
I don't even know if I would have thought all of this was clever/funny in high school.

Awww...I emailed him again, and told him that I was as British as a Vienna Red Hot, and now when I checked the site, he took out the link to the email page!
I saved it in an archive anyway, and the link I posted here still works for now.
What can I do next? Any suggestions?

If you got enough publicity, how far away could little "patrick houdek bores me" signs at chicago shows all over be?

heeheehee now THAT would be EVIL.

incredibly immature... but who was it who said turnabout is fair play?
