I was in the can and overheard one of the girls from said band say that she only did the band thing for "the men, the booze and the $15 I get at the end of the night for playing." I was curious to know where musicianship and artistic expression factored into this...but then I recalled how badly they sucked. They may all be really nice girls, though.... Ollie, Ian and Mom - You guys ripped the shit out of that stage last night, despite all the crowd issues. Hey I thought it was a punk rock show, not a Puritanical Hymnal Recital. Sorry, I haven't reciced my Punk Primer in the mail yet and I just don't know the rules! It is good to know that the Age Old Tradtion of overhearing a sacrastic remark in the bathroom can qualify someone to make judgements about sexual behavior. God I miss high school. WEll, blackanne, since the conversation was extended and not a one off remark, I didn't take it as sarcasm. Said comment was included in a drawn out discussion of wages at respective places of employment, including a strip club. As I was actually in the can, I didn't assign this position to anyone in particular...I didn't see who said it. A while later, I did notice the two of you falling all over yourselves (literally) during the EGFC set, calling strangers names (based on their attire, no less ) and basicly acting just as your "punk primer" directed. As a female in a band, you're responsible for the image you create. Since your musicianship was pretty poor and your comment seemed to indicate that you didn't care about such small details, it's up to you to make sure that I don't assume that you get the gigs based on your gender, "looks" and "favors." If you don't want to be "misunderstood," don't allow such stupid things to fall from your lips in public. The whole lot of you ruined the show. EGFC bases their show on riduculing their audience...that's funny. It's not as much fun when their audience does all the work for them, though. Oh, one more thing for the idiots last night to think on. Acts of violence towards punk bands on stage went out of style around 1980. It's about time you stop reading Sex Pistols' biographys and start using common sense. If you physically interfere with the musician, you contribute to the poor quality of their live sound. It's a damn good thing that EGFC has 3 talented musicians. BTW - I still think your band sucked last night...and I made that decision while you were on stage. Your behavior later had nothing to do with it. If you end up on another bill with some worthwhile bands, I'll give you another chance. My recommendation? Practice...lots. My opinion on the quality of your opener differred from others...that happens. I'm glad to hear that the girls are new at the music thing...that means there's lots of opportunity to kick ass still. Kudos to you guys! Blackanne - as you were not in the audience after your set and are (obviously) not responsible for the actions of others, please forgive me for directing my earlier posts at you. In retrospect, they should not have been, but I refuse to edit posts like that. I also agree that "slut" was not a good way to describe either party of females...but since they started using it first, it seemed appropriate at the time. I have no idea what any of the 4 females in question do in their spare time. It would have been better phrased as "the drunk suburbanite bimbos who had no clue (they seemed pretty damn stupid) or the punk-rock bitches who should have known better (they were pretty nasty...and for no obvious reasons)." Please accept my public, and humble, appologies. Back on topic. I love EGFC...even if their bassist did shove me clear across an empty entry floor for no reason. (love ya, ian!)
