I'll second that emotion. But they gotta be made by billy the bartender or they're mediocre at best. It's all about the Cock Sauce, baby. IP: Logged |

Black Forest, but that's just 'cause the bartenders know exactly how I like mine.

Come to think of it, PRACNA down at St. Anthony Main has a pretty kick ass Bloody. And they put a pickle the size of my forearm in it, too! IP: Logged |

Okay, many of you have been under the assumption that everyone enjoys that disgusting cold tomato soup with assorted floaties and a piece of plant sticking out of it known as a Bloody Mary. Blecchh. A "drink" made with horseradish, anchovies, pickles, tomatoes and celery is disgusting.IP: Logged |

Not one for much of a horseradish taste in mine. I like them heavy on the worcestershire sauce with a dab or two of some tabasco for the heat. The pickle is unnecessary, but it generally welcomed in any bloody mary as a welcome addition. Now, if there's not a slice of lime and 2 green olives then there's a problem.IP: Logged |

Actually, as far as beverages go, it's rather nutritious. Without the vodka, of course.

If'n you're NOT a vegetarian.... The Lab in St. Paul does these killer, pint glass-sized spicy Bloody Marys with a cajun beef stick instead of a pickle...but they'll accomodate you if you want anything else in it instead/also. And they're only $2 or $2.50 during happy hour.I forgot about Sweeney's...they're even close enough to walk to. Do they do weekend breakfast/brunch? IP: Logged |

I'm pissed at the Lab/4th St Station. My practice space is right above it, and after practice on Monday we were going down to continue the drinking. It was a $5 cover, and that was just to get in the BAR! So we went to Kelly's down the block and they happily let us in where we spent all our money on drinks (and tips of course, we're friendly fellas).I hope this was an experiment, and I hope they know it FAILED. We we're gonna spend way more than five bucks on drinks, I wasn't gonna spend 5 on just the chance to get started. Dumb. ------------------ "Excellent Cartoonery" IP: Logged |

As far as straight-up quality bartending, I always liked The Monte Carlo & Sherlock's Home. They are hardly "punk" joints, but they have good scotch selections and well trained bartenders.IP: Logged |

Black ForestUgh. "Here's your greasy menu, would you like to start with a beer that I'll bring in ten minutes? Our specialty is a plate of dry meat slathered with lard sauce with a side of boiled cabbage." No thanks, I think I'll have enchiladas from across the street. IP: Logged |

I always enjoyed the whiskey sampler trays at Sherlock's (even though I hate the 'burbs) but they're going bye-bye on 31 December. IP: Logged |

One of my whisky sampler drinking buddies forwarded an e-mail to me (now sadly deleted or I'd send it to you)from, as I recall, their brewmaster. Anyway, it was from a legit source. IP: Logged |

the Best bar ever is Mikes aka Honkey Mikes! right near dwntwn StPaul near Savvoys! by the way is the best pizza ever! Honkey Mikes, all the beers come in cans and all the drinks are 3/4 alchohol, the bar was held up twice by gun point and the customers both times! beat the ever livin daylights out of the guys and had them arrested! true story. My pal ordered a vodka press from the bartender, my friend asks for a lemon! the bartender says "you want fruit you can go to the fuckin grocery store!"its just a little slice of Heaven!

Kelly's is a fine bar. Last time I was in there... This women wearing a old swade trench coat and caring two large boxes, comes stumbling in, and within five min. she was flashing what was underneath the coat... Just a bra and panties. Best part they didn't even kick her out, they gave her a drink on the house! quote: Originally posted by DEA: since most of the eye-talians live on the east side of the cities, you'll find the best pizza in St. Paul and it's suburbs.
The best two Italian restaurants in the metro area are Yarusso Bros (on Payne next to Morelli's Liquor and Meats) and Donatelli Bros (in White Bear Lake). Both of these restaurants make their sauces from scratch; each one has it unique own unique taste and specialties. But if you want a really good Pizza you must go to the most unlikely of places... Superior WI, home of the Shamrock Pizza & Bar. While it is by far the greezest pie you will ever eat, the cheese and toppings are unreal. I cannot do the pizza justice by trying to explain why its the best, you just have to got there. The Shamrock is located on the far south end of Tower Ave in Souptown.
